Puppetry is an integrative art form. Playwriting, design, research, creating mechanisms/simple machines -- a puppeteer is skilled in all of these areas. Our Resident Company Artists and Guest Artists present workshops that encompass all areas of puppetry: performance, building, puppet mechanisms, mask, playwriting, and more.
Puppetry is a natural partnership for STEAM/STEM education and literature and language arts. Our Resident Company members are available for workshops and programming throughout the region. Puppets are a great way to actively engage young people; we are thrilled to meet with educators to explore these possibilities.
Now forming: Marionette Study Group! We explore marionette construction and manipulation as a group with movies, videos, great books, and lots of hands-on activities and projects. MSG is for older teens and adults. We will start meeting on Tuesday evenings once a month as soon as we have a core group.
