We’ve been closely monitoring the evolving situation with COVID-19 and have made the difficult decision to delay our return to in-person programming. We have sadly had to cancel Winter Puppetfest 2021. Your purchased tickets will be refunded within the next few business days. We ask your patience as holiday hours may impact this process.
Please know that this reaching this decision was only made after careful conversations with our performers and our board members. When the Board made the decision to move forward with Winter Puppetfest in the Fall of this year, we did so with the confidence that our community transmission rate was very low and projected to be continuing on a downward trajectory. In the past weeks, however, circumstances have changed rapidly.
Audience safety is of paramount importance. This decision was reached after reviewing the data and paying careful attention to other organizations serving similar populations. While we feel it is “probably safe” for us to have in-person performances, we do not feel that this is a good enough measure for an organization that has always prioritized the safety of children and families.
We so look forward to seeing you in Richmond soon for live performances. You, your children, and families in the Richmond community are the inspiration that keeps us going. Thank you.
